Who couldn't love a yellow butterfly! This little yellow and black swallowtail sports some great red and blue polka dots. Such a cutie! Perfect little guy to help remind you of the warmth of summer on those cold winter days.

Encased in a black plastic float frame with elasticity film which allows you to easily see both sides of the mantis. The plastic film allows you to better see the physical characteristics of your critter while keeping them safe. You can open the frame but it will probably damage your new insect friend.

The diamond/circle frame is approximately 4.75" x 4.75" (across), 5" with base. Frame sides measure 3.6" x 3.6".

Papilio torquatus, the torquatus swallowtail, is a swallowtail butterfly in the subfamily Papilioninae. It is found from northern Argentina to Mexico. The wingspan is 75–80 millimetres (3.0–3.1 in). Adults strongly resemble Papilio garleppi. The larvae feed on the leaves of Citrus species. Full-grown larvae are mottled in dull tones of brown, greenish-yellow and whitish. It resembles a bird dropping.

A great addition to any cabinet of curiosities or classroom educational tool!
The critter pictured is an example of what you will be receiving. No worries, they are all about the same and super lovely.
