Charles Sobhraj, born to a Vietnamese mother and Indian father in Vietnam, is one of the most notorious conmen in the world and his story of capture as a serial killer is a compelling legend. Deprived of a sense of identity due to his disjointed upbringing, Sobhraj eventually ended up in France before being imprisoned and losing his many nationalities. With nowhere to turn, he took to travelling around the world, developing an impressive skillset of stealing passports, smuggling drugs and firearms, and breaking out of jail. As the danger increased, he began murdering tourists along the '70s "hippie trail" - leaving behind grisly crime scenes that prompted an INTERPOL manhunt and placed him on their top most wanted list.
