Escape from L.A. (1996) follows Snake Plissken's return to his role as a trusted government agent, on a mission to retrieve a dangerous doomsday device from the newly established, isolated island of Los Angeles. The film was directed by John Carpenter and was written by Carpenter, Nick Castle, and Debra Hill, with Kurt Russell, Steve Buscemi, and Stacy Keach as the talented cast.
