Hans Wechtlin – German – 1480-1526 - War Injury -

Wound Man - woodcut attributed to Hans Wechtlin from German surgeon Hans von Gersdorff’s (1455-1529) Feldbuch der Wundarzney (Field book of surgery) published in 1517. The wounded man depicts examples of the types of injuries that might occur in battle together with the weapons that might have caused them in the late Medieval period.
